Browns rookie wide receiver Corey Coleman was included in a police report regarding an alleged felonious assault that took place New Year’s Eve in Cleveland.
At this time, police do not consider Coleman as a suspect, and the wide receiver’s attorney, Kevin Spellacy, denied Coleman’s involvement in a statement to ESPN.com and other media outlets.
According to the report, a man named Adam Sapp was hospitalized with a ruptured eardrum and a concussion after an incident in the lobby of a condominium building where Coleman lives. A woman who was with Sapp told police the man got beat up after a verbal confrontation with four men coming off an elevator at the building around 2:50 a.m. on Dec. 31.
Receiver Geronimo Allison heard of the nickname for the first time on Thursday, but also didn’t seem to give the moniker much thought.
If that’s what they call themselves, that’s what they call themselves, Allison said. There probably won’t be too many handcuffs being passed out this Sunday.
Allison added: We’re going to be prepared for them. Whatever they throw at us, we’ll be prepared for it. We’re going to attack them at their weak points and we’re going to execute our game plan.
